We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect or Architectural Engineer to join our Design Vetting Office (DVO) in Abuja to support the delivery of a prestigious national project. Job Summary The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the technical oversight and validation of complex designs. He will be responsible for ensuring that all architectural, structural, and MEP components of railway stations and auxiliary buildings align with international standards, project specifications, and functional requirements.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Vetting: Review Contractor-submitted designs to verify architectural, structural, and MEP compliance for stations and railway buildings, ensuring adherence to international codes and project requirements.
  • Integrated Design Management: Ensure seamless coordination between architectural aesthetics, structural integrity, MEP systems, and urban integration.
  • Technical Documentation: Draft comprehensive technical comments, reports, and analysis within strict project deadlines.
  • Multidisciplinary Coordination: Lead the integration of technical feedback from various disciplines to provide a unified design response.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Prepare minutes of meetings, technical reports, and official correspondence for communication with Clients, Contractors, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Material & Structural Analysis: Review technical specifications, laboratory test results, and calculation reports for structural and finishing materials.
  • Quality Assurance: Apply European and British standards regarding public space accessibility, fire safety/evacuation, and material quality control.
  • Site Supervision: Conduct periodic site visits in coordination with the Supervision Team to ensure construction aligns with approved designs.

Job Requirements

Technical Requirements

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5–10 years of proven experience in large-scale infrastructure or complex building projects.
  • Standards: Deep knowledge of European (Eurocodes) and British Standards (BS) regarding safety, accessibility, and material testing.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced command of AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and MS Project.
  • Languages: Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
